MMG offers many different cabinet and surface products and our expert staff will work with you to ensure you the best product, pricing and value to fit your individual needs and budget. After consulting with your MMG representative and determining the details of the project, we may encourage you to visit our neighboring stone distributors, to select the perfect slab(s) for your project. Their staff will expertly assist you with your selection. Once selected, your slab will be reserved and we'll take care of the rest.

MMG has a one-year warranty on labor of MMG fabricated and installed stone. If you choose to upgrade from the standard sealer to our Dry Treat sealer there is a lifetime warranty against water and oil staining when our superior sealer is applied by our certified applicators.

Every product is different. Granite is a very hard substance, rating 6-7 on MOHs hardness scale (diamonds rate a 10). Engineered quartz is of a similar hardness. Normal daily use on your counter tops should not scratch the stone. Chipping can occur in instances of severe impact or jarring. If this happens it typically is a small area and can be repaired with epoxy and/or crushed granite.

Marble is a much softer material rating about 3-4 hardness which means scratching can happen more easily. Marble is more typically used as flooring, vanity tops, and fireplace surrounds. If you wish to use marble for your kitchen counter tops, extra care should be taken. Please ask your MMG representative for more details.

Engineered quartz does not require sealing. Because every natural stone is different, it is possible for your stone to stain without the proper precautions. We recommend sealing your tops and using appropriate cleaners. MMG carries the best line of cleaners and sealers/protectants available. We encourage you and your MMG representative to discuss which products are right for you and your counter tops. Additionally, the use of coasters and trivets are recommended to keep messy drips and excessive heat away from your tops. Blot and clean spills immediately and towel dry to prevent water spots. Do not leave leaky oily, rusty containers or hard chemicals on your tops or flooring for any prolonged amount of time. Proper sealing will help protect your stone from many of the everyday spills that preventative measures fail to avoid.

Included in the cost of your project MMG’s standard impregnating sealer is applied at the time of installation. Depending on your stone and its use, it may need to be sealed again 9-12 months later. Most standard sealers require additional treatments every 12-18 months depending on type and use. For an additional cost, MMG offers a superior impregnating sealer with lifetime warranty against staining. This sealer never needs additional application. Studies comparing the cleanability of unsealed granite and marble to engineered stone when exposed to e-coli and then cleaned with average household cleaning products, including mild dish soap and water, showed the same level of cleanability and met FDA standards for food contact.

Radon is a naturally occurring gas generated from minerals in the earth. In and around an average home any number of NORMs (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Mineral) can be found in a variety of natural products. These products can produce measurable amounts of radiation including radon gas. Concrete products, sand, clay bricks, coal, natural gas, fertilizers and the vegetables grown in those fertilizers, wine glasses, windows or mirrors may contain NORMs. Many studies have determined that granite is safe; measurable amounts of Radon can be found, but the level is insignificant and not harmful. There is a much higher chance of risk from radon emanating from the soil under your house than from the granite on your cabinets.
